Talent Pipeline into the NB Construction Industry
Skilled trades professionals are in high demand in the New Brunswick labour force, and it is projected that over the next ten years there will be a large shortage of skilled trades professionals in our province. The Construction Association of New Brunswick’s strength is in the partnerships it maintains to help grow the construction talent pipeline in our province.
If you are a teacher or student from K-12, guidance counsellor, someone looking to get into the trades post secondary, or as a second career, here is a one stop list of programs available from our industry partners to help you reach your goals:
CANB Building for the Future Fund
Building for the Future is an initiative created and administered by CANB’s three regional associations. CANB’s flagship financial support program has donated more than $400,000 throughout the provinces school system in the past 10 years. The fund is to support the teaching of constructions trades in our local schools. The goal is to expose as many students as possible to the construction trades and ensure the teaching of new courses and the use of relevant technology.
How can I apply for the fund?
Please contact your regional CANB Association to apply for this fund, or for any relevant questions about the fund:
